Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked for Wii
This is a Rhythm-Music game inspired by the 2011 major motion picture. The game features six customizable chipmunk characters from the Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise-you can pick which character and 30 songs that players dance to either alone or in 2-player co-op. Additional features include: easy-to-follow on-screen dance directions, 50 different dance moves, finishing dance moves, six in-game tropical locations, immediate in-game feedback on performances and motion recognition for dancing through the Wii Remote.
The game begins with customizing your characters; personalize four categories including shirts, hats, glasses and bling! The more you play the more points you earn to get more of these options. I love the fact that you can choose any of the six chipmunks–Alvin, Simon, Theodore, Brittany, Jeanette and Eleanor–as playable characters. You can play up to 2 players at a time. It is a big perk that everything on the screen is read by the chipmunks. This is very nice feature for children that can’t read!
While playing, I liked the fact that you don’t lose points if your moves are wrong–you only earn points for doing the right moves. The graphics are fantastic-they look like the characters from the movie and the moves are smooth and clear. As with many Wii games I love the fact that you are getting a workout while having fun. You don’t even have to have dancing experience because like other dancing Wii games you copy the moves. It appears they took many songs from the original chipmunks series, as well as the voices from the cartoon which I can relate to, since I remember many of the cartoons from long ago. This is a great game for young kids as well as older family members. You could give this game as a gift or play it at a party to keep kids entertained. I highly recommend.
