Arizona Gladiator Fire Relief Effort
Not too long ago I wrote a review on a book called “Magic Bridge“, set in Crown King, Arizona. Curiously, a little over a week ago my employer sent me to Arizona for business, and I not only drove past Crown King, but stayed in a hotel a short distance away for the week. It was during this stay that I watched as the area surrounding Crown King caught fire, becoming engulfed in raging wildfires that now cover over 16,000 acres of nearby land.
I took pictures. I watched the local news for updates. I stood outside and breathed in the smoke-laden air. Yet, as an outsider, all of those things still refuse to allow me to understand the pain and stress that comes with be faced with losing everything you know and love to a wildfire.
Thomasina Burke, author of ‘Magic Bridge”, is currently donating book proceeds to the rebuilding efforts in Crown King for those that have been displaced, and for the businesses lost. Please take the time to not only go to her website and learn about these fires, but also purchase this book. Help families that are in need, and help save this area.
