Have you seen the new Luvs Diapers’ video series that showcases how parents do things differently with baby the second time around? All of the videos are genius and even had me laughing out loud because they are so true! When I had my first baby boy 16 years ago (wow, really that long??) I did everything by the book. When I was pregnant I ate right, stayed away from caffeine 100% of the time and I exercised regularly. When he was born I was hesitant in many things as a first time mom and overbearing on many things, too, I’m sure. I always made sure he ate the right amount of servings for each food group, etc. I always wanted to best of everything and many times that meant the more expensive items. Yes, I was that mom the first time. Fast forward 14 years to me having my second son and it was very similar to one of my favorite Luvs Diapers’ videos shown below:
Our Second Baby
Although I wasn’t as care free as I thought I would be the second time around (possibly because there were 14 years between my boys and it was almost like a first child again) I did let go a lot more freely. I knew if I had a caffeinated drink when I was pregnant it wouldn’t be the end of the world and baby would be ok. I didn’t go overboard though. I was also more lenient with my eating habits and if I had cravings I gave in. The breastfeeding video above made me laugh because although I am not that open about it, I can and will breastfeed in more places than I did the first time and I applaud Luvs for making such a great video about breastfeeding moms!
Our Third Time Around
Earlier this year we had baby number three and we are even more relaxed with her. Breastfeeding, changing baby, worrying about what baby eats off the floor, it all changes and most parents learn that these things won’t end the world if they happen. What has been the funniest for me is watching how much my husband has changed! With our first he was panicking all of the time. He was worried about germs, eating from the floor, touching anything that might have been dirty…he really freaked out early on. With our youngest, he’s almost completely care-free. Whatever she does he’s pretty much in the “ok, it happened” mode! It’s hilarious!
As time goes on, you realize that some items work great even if they aren’t the most expensive. Luvs Diapers are a great example of this! They are very reasonably priced and they do the same job as other diapers do! If you are a first time mom, don’t wait til your second child to make the change! Luvs can save you money now!

I was much more relaxed with the second child over the first. The first one was “by the book.” It didn’t work too well for sure!
The biggest change I’ve seen is not stressing as much. You get use to little things and aren’t constantly panicking (although there is still panic from time to time lol.)

I totally agree with you. It’s so nice when you can pay less for something and get the same quality as the higher priced items.
