Resolutions Made Easier with #Buy5Save5

With New Year’s resolutions in full swing, it’s always nice to find external support.  The Kroger Co. Family of stores has a Buy 5 Save $5 deal on items that can aid our resolutions.

I have made a few resolutions this year.  The first, not so surprising, is to get back into shape.  Getting back into school threw off my entire eating and exercise routine.  With that, I need to manage my time more efficiently.  And lastly, I need to get more organized.

To help me do that, I’m looking for items that save me time, money and calories.  One of my favorite product lines for this is Kashi Go Lean Cereals. They provide essential nutrients without all the added sugar and have plenty of fiber to keep me feeling full longer.  (Awesome for getting through long labs where snacking is forbidden!)

To go along with saving time in the morning, I grabbed some Lipton Tea. I love coffee but end up loading it with sugars because I just can’t drink it black. But I quite enjoy unsweetened Lipton Tea, hot or cold, and it provides the perfect amount of caffeine to keep me going. I’m also thinking of trying Special K Protein Shakes for a late morning snack. I have a class right around lunch time so this could be the perfect thing to squelch those hunger pains until I get home.

I’m also guilty of becoming very dehydrated.  Having stuck to last year’s resolutions and removing all processed foods from my diet, I don’t get much sodium on a daily basis.  Therefore, I’m not that thirsty.  I never drink pop and water gets pretty boring.  So, I’m allowing myself these delicious Gatorade flavors as sweet treats.  I’ll be regaining valuable electrolytes and sodium.  (Full-flavor Gatorade was even recommended by my physician because my blood pressure is way too low!)

I also grabbed a box of Puffs brand facial tissue.  We seriously can never have enough in the house, the car or our pockets!

While my local Food 4 Less doesn’t offer a shopper card, (everyone gets the same low prices) all these products were on a super sale.  I was able to stock up on the cat’s food too so I won’t have to worry about that while I’m in school!

So, make your list and get saving!
