In my Moby Wrap review I announced to the Sweep Tight readers that my husband and I are in the process of adopting internationally. This will require a lot of travel for us – and on the way back – travel with an infant. One of my biggest fears is getting on a plane with my baby as a new parent and not having much control over sleeping, eating, sitting, standing, getting away from noise, etc. However, I have been able to find a few products that I am hoping will be SUPER helpful along the way and I am excited to share with you as I try them out!
The Yoomi Bottle is a self warming bottle – it has a little rechargeable warmer that slips in the top and will warm up the bottle in 60 seconds. So… all I need on a plane is some bottled water, powdered formula, and I am good to go! Hopefully I do not even have to get up from my seat and climb over my fellow travelers.
The first thing I notice (as a designer) was the cool packaging – so because that has nothing to do with how the product works, here is a picture and that is all I will say about it 🙂
Next, was the size of the bottle – it is shorter and wider than most bottles, the nipple is wider too. I felt like this would be hard to hold maybe – but it was still pretty natural for me, and the nipple itself has anti colic vents, and makes it easy to combine breast and bottle feeding (not that ours will be that way… but for those of you who do both or looking to transition). And finally – the warmer. You charge it by boiling it in water on the stove, once charged it will last until you need it. Once you hit the warm button, the heat will last for up to an hour – and you can leave it in the bottle while you are feeding. We tried it out for ourselves – just as a practice run – and it was pretty easy. A little bit of prep, but if we can get a few of the warmers for ourselves, we should be good for a couple legs of a 15 hour trip.
While they are a little on the higher end price-wise – I think the convenience will be worth it – at home and on the road.
